“The tree is more than a first seed, then a stem, then a living trunk, and then dead timber. The tree is a slow, enduring force straining to win the sky.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Wisdom of the Sands
Be it a solitary tree exposed to the elements on a wind-swept hillside, a veteran fir towering above its fellows in a popular wood, or a circular copse on a knoll in the middle of a field, we have an affinity with and love of trees that has endured for centuries.
The Bigger Picture Gallery’s Winter Exhibition brings together a collection of talented photographers, some of whom have collaborated in previous shows, and introduces Paul Gorman and John Melville who will be exhibiting with us for the first time.
In addition to limited edition prints, specially selected photography books echoing the theme of each exhibition are available for sale, together with a series of poster prints and postcards.
“Let’s take our hearts for a walk in the woods and listen to the magic whispers of old trees.” — Author unknown
